Description:

Scottrade, Inc. has a Director of Branding & Marketing Communications position available in St. Louis, MO. The main purpose of this position is to serve as a key thought leader for brand development and media strategy. Oversee planning, development and coordination of all marketing communications programs to promote the company brand and ensure consistent communication to customers. Effectively manages outside agencies to assist in the production of marketing materials. Provide performance based marketing and advertising solutions, aligning with the company's business goals and objectives. This person will manage media buying, messaging, branding, advertising, and agency relations. The role also encompasses partnership and sponsorship deals, creative development, print, direct mail and e-mail efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Influences, develops and directs brand strategy and management. Oversees development, education and implementation of corporate brand guidelines. Lead the creative development of new marketing and advertising content. Primary focus will be TV, print, direct mail and e-mail.
  • Develops marketing communication strategies, including optimization of media vehicles, mix, frequency and timing and develops budgets and annual plans to meet business/financial objectives. Influences and helps plan messaging and marketing communications (online, print, tradeshows/events, PR and marketing programs).
  • Provide leadership in developing strategic media objectives and plans using both traditional and digital channels. Lead media strategy, planning and buying initiatives. This includes providing insight and possible media solutions. Develop and test integration opportunities to extend the company brand. Ability to demonstrate thorough understanding of the target audiences, how they use the media, and how to most effectively communicate to them.
  • Take a lead role in representing the best interest of the company’s negotiations of rates, advertising placement, and value-added opportunities.
  • Responsible for establishing relationships and strategy with creative agency partners ensuring annual review of quality, service and pricing.

Experience:

  • 10+ years in Marketing or Marketing Communications.
  • 5+ years of supervisory / management experience.
  • Financial services experience a strong plus.
  • Experience in both branding and launching / rebranding products and services to consumer market.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
