Job Description


STV has an immediate need in our South Carolina offices for a Senior Roadway Engineer in our Transportation & Infrastructure division. The successful candidate will:

  • Provide professional design services for transportation improvement projects for municipal agencies and SCDOT.
  • Design roadway geometry and details, drainage, traffic control, pavement markings, and signing for transportation infrastructure.
  • Interact with client management teams, engineers in other technical disciplines, and marketing teams
  • Design using MicroStation, experience in Open Roads (ORD) is a plus
  • Coordinate design development and assisting with technical direction to other design staff
  • Coordinate with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget
  • Assist with the development of specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
  • Work with practice and office leadership, client development, business development and industry participation to advance your career and STV's growth.
  • Establish working relationships and interface with client technical staff and project managers


The ideal candidate is an individual who is a self-starter, an excellent communicator, and possesses a vast understanding of roadway design principles. The candidate will apply roadway engineering principles to provide design for road and bridge projects and will work with junior staff members and other disciplines for successful project production and execution.

Responsibilities include:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in all technical aspects of roadway design
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required
  • SC PE license is required
  • Experience in design with intersections, roundabouts, interchanges, widenings, and bike/ped facilities.
  • Experience with using Open Roads Designer is a plus
  • Experience with SCDOT and other SC municipalities
  • Strong interpersonal skills for client and other engineering discipline interaction

Compensation Range:

$94,967.00 - $126,623.00
