Job Description

The role of the Infrastructure Engineer II Lead is to ensure the operational stability and integrity of server, virtualization, storage, and cloud services. This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing virtualization, storage, server environments, and managing data backups across the organization. In addition, the Engineer will install, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize all virtualization, storage, and cloud resources. This person will also examine and fix issues with hardware and software quickly and correctly and offer training to end-users when necessary. The Infrastructure Lead will also oversee a team of four Infrastructure and Network Engineers. This role is part of the Lindt & Sprungli North America OneIT team responsible for supporting Lindt & Sprungli North America and our three manufacturing companies based in the United States: Lindt & Sprungli (USA) Inc, Ghirardelli Chocolate Company & Russell Stover Candies, LLC.


Essential Functions

  • All aspects of equipment, programs, settings, backups, size, structure, lifespan, quality, and reliability of the server and storage environments in North America. This includes but is not limited to, servers, blades, SAN, NAS, DAS, virtualization, and local and replicated backups.
  • Lead the Infrastructure Engineers and assist with making quick decisions and balancing workloads.
  • Lead and collaborate across brands, both nationally and globally, to achieve a secure and robust environment that meets local and global business and regulatory needs.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure administration.
  • Research and recommend products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts.
  • Track server and storage performance, create performance reports, and develop strategies for maintaining server and storage infrastructure.
  • Keep in touch with the organization's stakeholders, department heads, and end users through regular written and face-to-face interactions about relevant infrastructure activities.
  • Assume Incident Management responsibility during severity one server incidents.
  • Build strong partnerships with local vendors that provide essential infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with Group IT, and group-defined infrastructure vendors for ongoing operations of group-provided infrastructure products & services.
  • Determine the scope, objectives, and outcomes of infrastructure projects.
  • Lead the Infrastructure project management process and work with team members and stakeholders to achieve expected deliverables.
  • Write RFPs, bids, contracts, work reports, and other documents for infrastructure projects and related work.
  • Assist with the planning and deployment of IT security measures for infrastructure systems.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field and/or a combination of related work experience.
  • 4+ years' experience of work experience in a multi-site, multi-organization configuration in the capacity of a senior or lead infrastructure engineer.
  • Ability to convey ideas clearly and communicate effectively with stakeholders and management.
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving a culture of continuous infrastructure improvement and Innovation.
  • Knowledge of current IT Infrastructure best practices.
  • Knowledge of and experience with:
    • Servers, application management, storage, virtualization, and backup support experience.
    • Provisioning, managing, and supporting hybrid cloud environments.
    • Cybersecurity awareness, security response, and security patching processes.
  • Proven experience with server/storage capacity planning, server/storage security principles, and general server/storage management best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and success with:
    • Local & Azure AD
    • SCCM, Intune, and Group Policies
    • DHCP, DNS, Microsoft AD
    • Managing network devices (e.g., switches, firewalls, routers, Wi-Fi)
  • Competence with testing tools and procedures for measuring and diagnosing server, storage, and virtualization performance.
  • Knowledge of data privacy practices and laws.
