WHAT THIS ROLE IS AND HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE:

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the repairs and maintenance of the production equipment in accordance with blueprints, manuals, and craft codes by replacing belts or installing electrical wiring and hydraulic lines. Troubleshoot and repair equipment controlled by Programmable Logic Control (PLC) and A/C Freq Drive systems. Proficient in electronics and reading schematics. Diagnose, schedule, and follow preventative maintenance schedule. Maintain a safe, productive work environment.

Must be able to work evenings/weekends based on business need.

The Maintenance Technician will be located at our Liberty Distribution Center in Liberty, MO.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Demonstrates a broad range of mechanical and troubleshooting skills by having the ability to repair equipment that ranges from simplistic to complex.
  • Repair and maintain machinery and equipment in accordance with blueprints, manuals, and craft codes by replacing belts, repairing, or installing electrical wiring and hydraulic lines.
  • Respond to requests from Operations manager, supervisor, or operators.
  • Assist with designing/ building/installing machine guarding and other safety requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and repair machinery controlled by Programmable Logic Control (PLC) and A/C Freq Drive systems. Be proficient at electronics, reading and interpreting electronic schematics and wiring ladder logic.
  • Diagnose, evaluate, and schedule repair and/or preventative maintenance of all office machinery.
  • Create and follow preventative maintenance schedule for all operational and office equipment.
  • Support and coordinate changes to equipment or facility to comply with regulations as identified by monthly EHS inspections.
  • Perform general maintenance repairs in the HBC area that may include: general carpentry, painting, locks, cubicle maintenance, warehouse racking and preventative maintenance work.
  • Perform basic utility connections and repair of pneumatic and hydraulics.
  • Collaborate with LDC re: maintenance of sprinkler systems, fire protection devices and security perimeter to ensure proper operation.
  • Maintain a safe, productive work environment. Ensure compliance of all regulatory obligations for EHS. Maintain a healthy team culture that clearly reflects our corporate beliefs and values.
  • Prompt and accurate handling of administrative procedures and responsibilities. Duties could include supporting manager in budget development, Lean manufacturing, or capital proposals.
  • Must demonstrate basic computer skills.
  • Create and maintain strong internal department and external contractor relationships.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The following is required to be considered for this role:

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English.
  • Minimum two years' experience troubleshooting, repairing, operating mechanical equipment that ranges from simplistic to complex and/or certified maintenance technician.
  • Basic computer skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 years' experience following established safety procedures for wearing PPR, lock/and tagout, and handling hazardous chemicals.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience operating, troubleshooting, repairing, reworking hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience utilizing common electrical and electronic test equipment.
  • Must be available to work up to 12 hours per day.
  • Must be able to work evenings/weekends based on business needs.
  • Ability to pass HBC forklift certification.
