Summary/Objective
Reporting to the Floor Care Supervisor, the Floor Care Tech is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness of assigned buildings according to contract standards.
Essential Functions

  • Complete assigned janitorial duties according to your schedule and to quality control standards.
  • Complete janitorial floor care practices based on industry knowledge and standards.
  • Perform floor care including strip, wax, buff, burnish, scrub floors and assess for specific maintenance needs as determined by your schedule.
  • Must have knowledge of floor care producers and usage requirements.
  • Use floor care equipment required in contract safely and in a manner to not cause damage to the floors or building.
  • Practice safety precautions in the application and use of supplies; not limited to hazardous materials, Universal Precautions, SDS.
  • Practice safe and correct lifting procedures.
  • Perform all duties as assigned by the Team Leads or Supervisor.
  • Be flexible with duties performed, as job expectations or schedule changes arise.
  • Be a responsible steward of Agency resources, conscious of not wasting time and/or materials.
  • Provide transportation to and from worksites, if necessary - as required for their route.
  • All other duties assigned by the Floor Care Supervisor
Work Environment
The janitor performs their work in a professional setting and may encounter clients.
Physical Demand
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Push, pull or carry 40 lbs. occasionally, up to 25 lbs. frequently. Must be able to be on feet for long periods, bend, stoop, and be exposed to cleaning chemicals. Must be able to see to complete duties to required specifications. Occasional exposure to heat and cold. Frequent exposure to dust.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel
This is a full-time position. Schedule will be Monday thru Friday. Weekend work may vary depending on the needs of the business designated by the contract.
Qualifications
The Janitor will be a proven leader with the following:
  • Must be adaptable to change as schedules or specifications of contract or change.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively to management staff, co-workers and contractors.
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and honesty.
  • Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions. -as deemed appropriate
  • Ability to work as a member of a team to accomplish an objective or task.
  • Knowledge of safe working procedures and policies, including HazMat, SDS and Universal Precautions
  • Professional interaction and appearance to customers/contracting officials.
  • Ability to work with employees with or without disabilities and/or disadvantages.
  • Good initiative and time management skills to complete duties in an acceptable time frame.
  • Ability to work independently, without supervision, if required.
  • Knowledge of janitorial procedures and contract specifications.
  • Current license, clean driving record and current insurance - if applicable
