Achieve annual sales and margin targets for new business while maintaining and growing existing business.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with all buying influences within each customer, and leverage appropriate skills to understand customer needs, priorities, and drivers.
Manage and oversee account planning, pipeline management, profitability improvements, and churn management.
Facilitate collaboration and coordination between Sales Management, R&D, Marketing, and Field Service to support customer trials and validation.
Keep management informed of competitive developments in the account base, including marketing strategies, pricing structures, or product performance.
Secure and manage supply agreements, and proactively promote product innovation and sustainable packaging solutions.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, reflecting organizational core values, and always maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Participate in business and industry events to connect with existing and potential clients and identify and provide intelligence on market and customer trends and opportunities.
Seek out and participate in training and development opportunities to expand knowledge of flexible packaging solutions and sales techniques.
Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
Bachelor's degree in business, packaging, or engineering, or relevant work experience
3-8 years of successful sales experience in the flexible packaging industry, with a focus on selling to mid-large CPG customers
Strongly preferred: experience in the meat, poultry or protein packaging industry and previous experience in a manufacturing organization
Remote position with preference for candidates located in the Midwest or Southeast region
Strongly preferred: knowledge of and experience with the printing and converting industry and equipment
Proficient in PC-based software applications including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word, and Sales tools such as SalesForce.com
Strong mathematical skills, including basic accounting, spreadsheet ability, and basic problem-solving methods
Demonstrated critical thinking, logic, patience, reasoning, empathy, continuous learning, and development
Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and visual management, and the ability to present comfortably to audiences both large and small
