Job Description

Job Objective: The Website Manager will manage The Salvation Army digital brand and various websites throughout the Division to include providing utilization training to officers and employee. The Website Manager will also create and manage website content.

Essential Functions:

  • Daily management of websites and landing Pages for The Salvation Army
  • Write, edit, proofread, and publish content for all marketing and oversee divisional website
  • Assist with The Salvation Army Social Media platforms maintenance and create posts as needed
  • Assist in the development of a strategic plan for website and other internet technologies in fundraising and brand-building
  • Offer strategic and creative input on all online communications efforts
  • Create and follow workflow and editorial processes
  • Train internal clients to manage local websites and continuously improve local presence on website
  • Responsible for monthly web report including: digital tracking, conversion activity, traffic volume, engagement trends, search optimization, and recommendations and analysis based on best practices
  • Implement tags and tracking technologies through tag management platforms such as Google Tag Manager for Google Tracking Codes, Facebook Pixels and others
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Post-secondary degree in relevant field preferred

Experience: Minimum three years' experience in website design, development and maintenance; minimum three years' experience in content creation; experience in non-profit fundraising preferred

Certifications/Licenses: None

Skills/ Abilities:

  • Interpret complex content for general audiences
  • Ability to lay out web pages with the user/client audience in mind
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, set and deliver upon realistic timelines, work as a team and with autonomy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented
  • HTML, CSS and Java Script
  • SEO, Google Analytics, and Adobe Creative Suite

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Physical Requirements: include sitting; climbing and/or balancing; stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching, crouching and/or crawling; standing; walking; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; use of vision; driving a vehicle; pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying 25-40 pounds; traveling by airplane; both outdoor and indoor navigation of settings, and standing and/or walking up to 12 hours per day. Travel: Occasional travel up to 1 week/month

Driving: Driving is required. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.

Working Conditions: Daily work is performed in a typical office environment with some location days for production; may require some weekend and evening work. Event work may include hotels, indoor/outdoor venues, Corps Community Centers, and other public venues.
