Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Control Systems Engineer, we'll count on you to:

  • Perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Coordinate workload through design development and construction document phases to complete documents on schedule.
  • Conduct systems integration of the I & C system, including programming of PLCs/PCs and HMI customizing for various control software programs.
  • Function as Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects as needed, but project management is not the sole focus of the position.
  • Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed.
  • Supervise small staff of professionals and technicians as needed.
  • Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.
  • Write and edit I & C specifications, select equipment and monitoring/control devices.
  • Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders.
  • Provide construction contract administration as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Architectural Engineering with Electrical or Mechanical emphasis.
  • A minimum of 5 years applicable experience.
  • PE.
  • Hands-on experience designing I & C Systems, including schematics and loops desired.
  • Familiarity with BIM I & C programs desired.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous work experience with an A&E/Consulting Engineering firm.
  • Master's degree in Architectural Engineering with Electrical or Mechanical emphasis.
  • PLC/WTP and WWTP software programming experience desired.
  • Preference given to local candidates.
