We are a leading provider of full-service staffing and management programs for the K-12 educational market. We are currently seeking an Account Manager to partner with a school district in Kansas City.

OVERVIEW: The Account Manager/District Manager is responsible for managing the overall daily operations, activities, and staff in assigned school districts, acting as a liaison between ESS staff members, school district administrators and the corporate office to ensure the delivery of quality services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with school employees in supporting each school's specific program needs.
  • Providing supervision and oversight to direct reports within assigned school districts, including classroom aides, instructional assistants, secretaries, bus aides, and other ESS staff.
  • Working in conjunction with school managers/employees, management, and the human resources department; actively participate in the applicant hiring process - interviewing, hiring, and managing employees.
  • Working in conjunction with school employees, management, and the human resources department; actively participate in the termination separation process - disciplining, terminating/resignations, and managing employees.
  • Participate in the New Hire Orientation sessions for employees/In-Service training sessions.
  • Review and manage employees through classroom visits and evaluations.
  • Completing and collecting daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly paperwork, e.g., timesheets, weekly reports, employee rosters, and attendance and billing records (where applicable) etc.
  • Tracking statistics related to hiring, turnover, retention, and staffing.
  • Reviewing timesheets/time records, completed by direct reports, for accuracy; submit to finance in accordance with established timeframes.
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of performance improvement systems related to staffing for assigned program sites.
  • Maintaining effective communications with staff, school district contacts, corporate employees, and management staff.
  • Exercising appropriate judgement in addressing specific situations and respond with immediate, effective solutions and/or promptly notifying program management.
  • Acting as role of direct reports in emergency situations when deemed necessary.
  • Maintaining effective verbal written communication with colleagues, direct reports, and school district employees as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned or as become evident.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages and motivates staff (including hiring, staff discipline, performance management, and recognition duties).
  • Assesses staffing needs, and recruits staff using methods such as newspaper advertisements or attendance at job fairs.
  • Trains, directs and appraises staff.
  • Makes daily schedules for proper manpower utilization.
  • Plans and organizes workload and staff assignments.
  • Issues written and oral instructions; assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.

COMPETENCIES

Language, Math and Reasoning

Language skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Math Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Abilities

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two year college/technical school; and/or 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

There are no specific requirements for this position.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Windows
  • Spreadsheet Software: Smartsheet

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

10-20% of the year
